MyTravelCircle — Partial Data Deletion Request
Your data, your control
You can delete some of your data without deleting your account. Much of it you can delete yourself in the app, straight away:
- Photos and videos you uploaded: open the trip, tap Media, open the photo or video and tap Delete, then Delete again to confirm.
- Documents you added: open the trip, tap Docs, tap the bin icon next to the document, then tap Delete.
- Your chat messages: press and hold one of your messages, tap Delete, then tap Delete again to confirm. Everyone then sees “This message was deleted”. For a shared location or a poll, its coordinates and place name (or the poll’s question, options and votes) stay stored with the chat until the trip is deleted, or while the circle exists.
- Recommendations and itinerary plans you made: open Library, choose Created by me, and delete them.
- Checklists you made: tap +, then Create a plan › Open my Plans library, choose Checklists, open the checklist, tap the bin icon, then tap Delete.
- Trips you own: open the trip’s settings and tap Delete trip. You can restore it for 30 days; after that it is erased for everyone on the trip.
- Trips and circles you belong to: open the trip’s or circle’s settings and tap Leave trip or Leave circle. Leaving removes you from the members, but what you added (messages, photos, expenses and so on) stays. You can’t leave a trip you are the only owner of, or while you owe or are owed money in it, and a circle’s last admin can’t leave.
- Your phone number, profile photo and home country: on Home, tap your profile photo or initials (top right), then Settings › Edit profile; change or clear them there and tap Save profile. You can change your name there too.
For anything else, choose what you want deleted below and email us. Full account deletion is handled in the app or by email (see Delete account). Partial data deletion may require support verification and can be limited for shared trip/circle records.

What we may keep
We may keep the following instead of deleting it:
- Your name and email address
- Removed from your profile only when you delete your account; even then we keep your email address in the record of the deletion, and some records keep your name (see Delete account). You can change your name and remove your phone number yourself in Settings › Edit profile
- Things other members rely on, such as amounts in a shared trip’s expenses
- Kept for the trip’s other members
- Reports, blocks, server logs and backups
- Kept for the periods listed on our Delete account page
