How to request account deletion

You can delete your MyTravelCircle account in the app or by email. Deleting your account removes your profile and the personal data listed under “What data is deleted”. Some information stays after deletion, mainly things you added to trips and circles that other people share; “What data may be retained” lists it and says for how long.

Method 1 — In-app (fastest)

1.Open the MyTravelCircle app and sign in.
2.On Home, tap your profile photo or initials (top right).
3.Tap My Profile.
4.Tap Security & Privacy.
5.Under Privacy, tap Delete account.
6.Tap Delete account, then tap Delete account again to confirm.

Before you start, save anything you need, and delete any trips, plans or checklists you own that you do not want to leave behind. After you confirm, you are signed out straight away, and your account is normally deleted within an hour. A deleted account cannot be restored.

Method 2 — Email request

Send an email to support@mytravelcircle.com with the subject line “Account Deletion Request” from your registered email address. We will process your request within 7 business days.

What data is deleted

When your account is deleted, we:

remove your name, email address, phone number and profile photo from your profile, and show you to others as “Deleted traveler”;
sign you out on every device and stop notifications to your phone;
delete the photos, videos and trip documents you uploaded (the recovery copies kept by our storage provider are erased within 30 days);
delete the recommendations you posted and the recommendations you saved;
cancel invitations you sent or received that have not been accepted, and switch off invite links you created;
delete the records of your AI planner usage.

What data may be retained

These records stay after your account is deleted:

Messages, polls, expenses, comments, receipts, itinerary items, AI requests and drafts, and other things you added to shared trips: Stay with the trip for its other members, shown as from “Deleted traveler”, until the trip is deleted (it is erased 30 days after its owner deletes it). Your own checklist in a trip also stays until then, but no one else can see it
Chat messages you sent in circles: Stay with the circle, shown as from “Deleted traveler”, while the circle exists (circles cannot be deleted yet)
Locations you shared in chats: Stay with the chat until the trip is deleted, or while the circle exists
Payment screenshots you sent to organizers, and payment QR codes you uploaded as an organizer: Stay with the trip until the trip is deleted. Screenshots are shown only to the trip’s owner and organizers; a QR code is shown to all trip members and to signed-in people who open one of the trip’s invite links. A QR code you replaced is not yet deleted automatically, even when the trip is deleted; email us and we will remove it
Your place in trips and circles: You stay listed as “Deleted traveler” in the trips and circles you were in. Some records keep the name you had: a circle’s history of who joined, left or changed roles (while the circle exists), and a trip’s Expense activity (such as “Asha paid Ravi ₹500”) and itinerary PDFs created in the app (until the trip is deleted)
Trips, circles, plans and checklists you created, and the home country on your profile: Not deleted automatically yet; trips and circles also stay for their other members. Before you delete your account, delete the trips, plans and checklists you do not want to keep and clear your home country in Settings › Edit profile, or email us and we will remove them within 7 business days
Plans you saved to your Library: The bookmark stays with your deleted account until the plan is deleted
A record that your account was deleted, and records of sign-in codes sent to your email address: Kept with no end date for now. While we keep the deletion record, that email address cannot be used to create a new account
Reports and blocks you made, or that name you: Up to 3 years (safety). Not yet deleted automatically; we delete them by hand when they reach 3 years
Notifications and Activity feed updates that mention you: Erased automatically within 30 to 180 days
Server logs, which can include your email address, account ID and IP address: Up to 180 days
Database backups: 14 days. Extra backups we take before major changes are deleted within 30 days
Content we removed for breaking our Terms or the law, and records about it: 180 days, or longer if a court or an authorized government agency requires (Indian law)
Counts that do not identify anyone, such as how many accounts were active in a month: May be kept
